About the Workplace

We are now looking for a planning engineer for the public environment unit in the Department of Technology and Service.

The unit's mission consists of the operation and maintenance of Håbo municipality's streets and parks, sports fields, beaches, natural areas, lighting, ice rinks, and schoolyards. The unit also initiates and implements a variety of investments within the operational area.

In the public environment unit, you will be part of a team of about 15 employees where we work together for a public environment that is good and pleasant to live and spend time in.

Your Responsibilities

As a planning engineer, you will play an important role in the overall planning in the long and short term, primarily within streets and roads. You will be responsible for driving the investment projects carried out by the public environment unit.

Your main areas of work include:

Overall planning of investment projects and procurements for the unit.
The unit's representative in larger plans or projects of other units/departments (planning processes, detailed plans, development projects, etc.).
Providing overarching knowledge in matters concerning streets, traffic, and parks. Reviewing documents.
Reviewing documents in internal projects.
Main responsibility for the unit's governing documents (Technical handbook, excavation in public spaces).
Keeping track of overarching governing documents that affect or that the unit needs to collaborate on (governing documents regarding cycling, sustainability strategy, crisis preparedness, etc.).
Responsible for maintenance plans for bridge structures and managing BaTMan.
Participating in and/or driving part of the unit's procurements.
Conducting cost calculations for various projects regarding implementation and for increased operational and maintenance costs.
Maintenance planning for street maintenance.
Preparing service documents.

Qualifications

University degree or equivalent experience in road, water, and traffic.
University education or experience in project planning or project management in road, water, and/or traffic.
Education or experience in procurement.

Meritorious

University competence in road, water, and traffic.
Specialist competence in paving, traffic, and/or street design.
Bridge competence.
Experience in project economics.
Experience in municipal operations or other public sectors.
